VIDEO PARTY · STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

Stream your VR videos to DeoVR on Meta Quest.

Keep your VR collection on your computer and watch it in your headset. Video Party organizes the files and shares them over your home network; DeoVR plays them on Meta Quest (Oculus).

  1. Add your VR videos

Open VR Videos in the desktop sidebar. Choose Add VR videos or Import VR folder. The files stay in their original locations on your computer.

  2. Check the picture settings

Open a video and choose its Video type and Source layout: for example, 180° panoramic with 3D side by side. These settings help describe the file to DeoVR. Adjust the projection in DeoVR if it is not detected correctly.

  3. Start VR sharing

In Watch in DeoVR, select your computer’s Wi-Fi or Ethernet address, then choose Start VR sharing. Use the address for your home network; 127.0.0.1 only works on the computer itself.

  4. Open your library in DeoVR

Copy the full VR library URL shown by Video Party. In DeoVR’s browser, select http:// and enter that complete URL, including the port, session key and final slash. Select a thumbnail to play the original video; use Back to return to the gallery.

  5. Keep your computer awake while watching

Leave Video Party running. Choose Stop VR sharing when you finish. Sharing starts off again after restarting the app; copy a fresh link for a new session.

If the gallery or video won’t open

Check the network and the full URL first. Guest Wi-Fi isolation, VPN routing and firewall settings can prevent a connection. Headset playback depends on the file’s codec, audio, resolution and DeoVR version. The desktop viewer supports flat stereo and equirectangular 180°/360° video; fisheye and proprietary projections need suitable player support. VR sharing sends the original file, without TV conversion or cloud upload. Keep your session link private.
